George C. Thompson military commission, 1801 Nov. 26.

This commission, dated November 26, 1801, promoted George C. Thompson to the rank of captain in the Kentucky Militia. The commission was issued and signed by Governor James Garrard. Thompson became a captain in the militia's 5th Regiment. The state seal is embossed on the left side of the document.
